Google's Advanced Image Search helps you to search images based on the following criteria.
Images are displayed to you based on image physical location(server location where the images are stored).
Now take a look at the URL while searching for image in google image seach
http://www.google.co.in/search?tbm=isch&hl=en&biw=1366&bih=600&cr=countryUS&safe=images&q=movies&orq=movies+filetype:png&tbs=ctr:countryUS,ift:png
Google adds another query string in search url cr ,cr stands for country. orq- stands for original query orq=movies+filetype:png&tbs=ctr:countryUS,ift:png
orq(original query) contains almost all the criteria I used while searching for image in Google image search.
- Country (almost every country)
- Image file type (JPEG,GIF,PNG,BMP,SVG)
- Image Size(Large,Medium,Icon,By size)
- Aspect ratio
- Image source (from all source or particular domain like flickr.com)
- Color in the image( Image background or image color)
